Francis Riley and Andrew Kerry step down after 10 years volunteer service on the Regional Committee.

Published:

WOW - 10 years!

On behalf of the committee Michelle Scott, Regional Manager for Yorkshire presented them each with a 10 year old bottle of whisky, which seemed apt for the occasion.

Michelle said “I had a whole speech in my head of what I wanted to say to them both but in the end emotions took over and it just ended up a tearful blurb.  As I looked round I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room.  I think they both knew that they were going to be missed a lot.”

Andrew Kerry from Holmfirth Harriers took over as Regional Treasurer from Richard Wasling who had said at the time that it was easy and there were only a handful of transactions a year!  I don’t think Andrew really knew what he was getting his self into but he stayed for a long time so it can’t have been that bad. Andrew was not only Regional Treasurer but is the Triathlon Secretary for Holmfirth Harriers, Event Organiser, Coach and Competitor.

Francis Riley from Leeds and Bradford Tri Club has been Chair of the Region and seen through both his 60 and 70 birthdays.  Yes that’s right, amazing! Anyone who speaks to Francis will know how passionate he is about the sport.  He was not only Regional Chair but he sits as the Yorkshire Rep on the Council and can also been seen out in the community as a Technical Official, Event Organiser, Coach and Competitor.

Stuart Jeffries makes the perfect comment “Your relentless enthusiasm and commitment is remarkable and the impact on the Triathlon community has been enormous”.

The region owes you both huge thank you for all of your hard work over the years.   You will both be missed.

THANK YOU.
