The series is starting to heat up after six events.

After several years of running the York Junior Triathlon, with space limited by the construction work for the outdoor velodrome, in 2017 it came of age, with the area surrounding the velodrome maturing nicely. This opened up new opportunities for the race organisers to put in place a new transition and new run course, with 200 competitors overwhelming voting in favour of the new layout. Well done to the team working on this race on behalf of the Yorkshire Regional Committee.

With the Inter Regional Championships in three weeks time, the majority of the Yorkshire IRC squad were up in the North East, racing at the draft legal event at Hetton in preparation. As a result, many of the top slots on the podium at York had new names on them, adding to the competition for the overall series positions. A full list of results can be found here. At Hetton meanwhile, Martha Calton-Seal and Wilbur Summerson took 4th and 3rd respectively in their Age Groups in a very strong field. A crash from behind in the bunch for Joe Sherman unfortunately took him out of contention and proved a distraction too much for Nathan Coy, until then both had been racing extremely well and are looking in great form for the IRC's.
