Race 3 of the 2018 Yorkshire Junior Race Series was hosted by Leeds & Bradford Triathlon Club (LBT) within the city centre campus grounds of the University of Leeds.
Last year’s Regional Children’s Event of the Year was a sell out again with over 350 entries between the ages of 8 and 16. One of the goals for British Triathlon is to grow participation within the sport, so it is hugely encouraging to see that 25% of the entrants were doing their first ever multi-sport event.
With temperatures peaking at 24C on the day, the event had a festival atmosphere, whilst the athletes were all pleased to pass the water station every 600m on the run.
LBT are hosting the first ever BTF sanctioned children’s race at the Brownlee Centre on June 3rd and we’re hoping for more of the same at the inaugural LBT Junior Duathlon.
