Swans Tri Club are the second club in Yorkshire to achieve TriMark Silver!

Published:

Congratulations to Swans Tri Club on becoming the second TriMark Silver Accredited Club in Yorkshire.

A HUGE Congratulations to Swans Tri Club on this achievement!

Swans Tri Club is a community club which started in 2018 and cater for people of all ages (currently ages 8 to 68), and of all abilities from Triathlon newbies to Age group Triathletes.

It is clear that everyone involved in the clubs loves it and eating CAKE (available at most sessions).

As a new club they are still growing their junior and adult membership and have been to many different events across the region to support and volunteer their services and promote the club.  This weekend they will be out in force at Castle Howard, so if you see green and orange, give them a shout!

They are passionate about offering high quality coaching in all disciplines, for all ages and abilities and currently have three Youth Activators.  The Head Coach, Sarah Weston is always going the extra mile to make sessions fun and enjoyable.

The club plan to grow and develop their coaching workforce with more members committing to become Community Triathlon Activators, Youth Activators and Club Coaches.

This is just a short insight to how the club run. Have a look at their website for more information.

Club Chair, Susie Foster said: “As a club less than a year old we are so excited to have gained our TriMark Silver just six months after our Bronze. This is something we are really proud of and is a tribute to the hard work and vision of so many people within our club and the belief and support of our members.

Our vision when we set this club up was from the beginning to be a small club with a big club ethos. Our amazing club secretary put together all the documentation needed for these strong foundations. Our founding members wanted to build a family club, to train together and inspire and encourage one another. When our kids see us training and racing, they learn from us. In return they push us harder because they have so much energy and stamina. We have novices and age group athletes training side by side. We celebrate every success. We have a culture of sharing and volunteering. And cake.

But this is just the beginning and we have much more amazingness to look forward to. We are setting up a Bike and Wetsuit library thanks to a Grant from Sport England to widen access to triathlon in the Selby area and we have lots more ideas for next year."

Clubs that have achieved TriMark Club Bronze accreditation can apply for TriMark Club Silver accreditation. The Silver level is linked directly to Clubmark, the Sport England accreditation scheme that operates under the Club Matters banner. More details on this can be found on the Club Matters page here.
