With temperatures peaking at 26C it was a tough day as each of the 13 regions fielded their strongest teams of 3 girls and 3 boys in each of the TriStar 2 and 3 age groups.

The Inter Regional Championships returned to Mallory Park for 2017, which last hosted the competition in 2015. The technical bike and run circuit on the undulating race track around the central lake saw racing open with the Junior & Youth Super Series, followed by the four IRC races. The day was perfectly book ended by some awe inspiring ParaTri performances at the end of the schedule. 

Great performances across the whole Yorkshire squad, helped them to 7th place in the team rankings, with the top individual results being delivered by the girls. Topping the Yorkshire team's achievements, Martha Calton-Seal secured 5th in TriStar 3 and a brilliant fight back from Amelia Chrispin in TriStar 2 saw her move through the field from 13th out of the water to take the bronze medal (picture below).

Our eyes now turn to the next race in the Junior Triathlon Series, the Holmfirth Duathlon next weekend.
