On Sunday 13th September 2015, the South East Regional Academy will hold selection trials for the 2015-16 season.
We are looking for athletes aged 14-18 (those born from 1997 to 2001) who are interested in joining the South East Regional Youth & Junior Triathlon Academy and are hitting a minimum target as indicated on the British Triathlon website.
Applications are welcome from runners, swimmers, triathletes, cyclists etc...
If you have achieved the levels to be considered please send an e mail of application to Sarah @ bodyworks1@aol.com with a brief outline of your sporting background and your current swim / run times, distances below. This need to have been done since Jan 2015 and be verified on the Power of 10 website, British swimming rankings website etc...
14-16yrs 200m swim /1500m run
16yrs+ 400m swim / 3000m run
If successful in your application, you will be asked to attend the academy trials day on Sunday 13th September at The University of Brighton, Denton Road, Eastbourne campus. The trials day will consist of a relevant distance swim and run to be completed separately. These are the times that will be used, except for in exceptional circumstances.
Selection on to the squad will be based on:
· Times achieved on the day
· Attitude and a desire to progress along the pathway to becoming an elite athlete
· Commitment to the academy delivery days.
· Athletes will be given monthly training days, along with training plans support and will be expected to participate in the National Super Series in 2016.
Those athletes who are successful in being invited to the trials will be sent further information on the timings for the day.
All applications must be in by the 23rd August 2015.
