Premium bike brand Beacon has become the new Official Bike Supplier to British Triathlon.

Lancashire based Beacon, who build quality, carbon fibre and aluminium road, triathlon, time trial, commuter and cyclocross bikes, has teamed up with British Triathlon and component supplier Campagnolo of Italy, to provide their premium road models for members of British Triathlon’s UK Sport Lottery funded World-Class Performance Programme.  British Triathlon’s relationship with Beacon will provide not only elite racing bikes but also technical support in bike positioning and fit for members of the squad, ensuring the team has access to world-leading technical support.

British Triathlon Head Coach, Ben Bright was delighted with the announcement commenting: “We have been working closely with the team at Beacon to ensure our triathletes receive world-leading bikes that enable them to deliver medal-winning performances. Beacon is a progressive company that understands the performance needs of our triathletes and will be a great supplier to work with.”

Darrin Robinson, Beacon CEO said “We are fully committed to seeing our bikes raced at elite level in both cycling and triathlon and we’re really looking forward to working with British Triathlon and members of the World-Class Programme to help them in whatever way we can with our technical expertise and bikes.”

British triathletes, including Lois Rosindale, Gordon Benson and 17 year-old Sian Rainsley have already opted to use the new Beacon BF-100 Race bike with Benson recently making his debut on the bike at the ITU World Triathlon Series race in Cape Town.

Gordon added: “It’s great to be riding one of the new Beacon Bikes, they are well known within the industry and give you the confidence to perform at your best, knowing the bike you’re riding has a wealth of expertise behind it.”

Beacon is also working exclusively with Campagnolo of Italy, to provide the very best equipment and components for members of British Triathlon’s World-Class Performance Programme.

Campagnolo, since its inception over 80 years ago, is dedicated to improving performance through continuous innovation but also uses the valuable feedback from athletes’ racing and training at such high intensity to further improve their products.

Campagnolo, who already support a number of the world’s leading professional bike racing teams, are proud to be involved with such a prestigious organisation as British Triathlon as they see triathlon as a fast growing and exciting sport.  Campagnolo are committed to increasing their support of triathlon in Great Britain through their relationship with Beacon and British Triathlon.

The Beacon BF-100 race bike the British triathletes are using weighs around 6.8kgs and is equipped with an integrated package of Campagnolo Super Record Groupset with Campagnolo Bora carbon race wheels.
