London Clubs Launch Duathlon Series at Olympic Park

London triathlon clubs have teamed up with Triathlon England to create exciting new Duathlon series at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The regions triathlon clubs have grouped together and organised an events and training programme across the summer and winter which offerssomething for everyone.  There is a Senior series, a Women's Series and also a Children's series planned for the summer. The summer events are all now open for entries and details can be found at the newly created "Velopark duathlon" website.

Added to the events programme additional training and coaching sessions will fill the calendar. Activites held to date have included the "Ride the Circuit" sessions which were offered to TE members only through April. There is a programme if "Womens Introductions to Duathlon" training sessions which is open to all. Plans for the future include "Age Group Development" sessions and "Children's Training" sessions.

Regional Programme manager Jon Train says "It's great to see so many clubs working together to create a long lasting presnece in the QE Olympic Park. The venue is a magnificent venue for racing and training, we hope to see you there soon."

The first events in the programme are:

4th May  Womens introduction to Duathlon

11th May Womens Duathlon (2m/10m/1m)

25th May Senior Duathlon (2m/10m/1m)

1st June Childrens Duathlon (various)

In return for organising an event each club get a 2 hour slot at the circuit in return. If your club would like to get involved please contact Jon Train (TE Regional Manager).
