3rd July - Alnwick Junior Tri @Druridge 2016 -
Part of the NE Junior Series
Based around the Druridge Bay Country Park on the beautiful Northumberland coast approximately 3 miles south Amble. The Alnwick Junior Tri @ Druridge is an openwater triathlon for TS1, TS2, TS3 and Youth age groups. The open water swim takes place in the freshwater Ladyburn lake
within the park. The bike course will take you out along a scenic traffic free tarmac route between the park and the dunes, before you return back to the park to complete the run course around the footpaths and meadow tracks on the south side of the lake. Your entry includes an event medal and printed T-shirt. The park offers cafe and toilet facilities, a kids play area to keep the little ones entertained, as well as free parking and easy access to the beautiful beach, perfect for a fun family day out. Please note, the event does not have changing facilities available.

3rd July & 7th August - GO TRI Harlepool #3 & #4
Triathlon & Accessable Aquathlon
A Super Sprint pool based Triathlon and Accessable Aquathlon, Triathlon comprises a Pool swim of 200m with a 6k cycle on roads and a 2.5krun.
Accessable Aquathlon, suitable for para triathletes/ people with a disability, pool swim for 10-20 minutes and mobilise for 1 mile.
Both take place in Mill House Leisure Centre.

3rd July - Children's Disability Triathlon
The Children's Disability Tri is an event designed especially for children who would be normally challenged by the thought of doing a triathlon. It is very relaxed and there will be as much help as the children need.
Based at the David Lloyd Club in Gosforth, the event will consist of a range of distances for the swim, bike and run and the athlete chooses how far they want to do according to their ability.

17th July - Hexham Junior Triathlon Sponsored by Gardiner Richardson
Established children's pool based triathlon, located within the superb facilities of the Wentworth Leisure Centre, Hexham. The pool adopts an OW style format, followed by a fun, technical bike route on the adjacent car park, with the run then following on the adjacent athletic track. Well marshalled, fun, family event, and includes our now famous 'diddy duathlon' for younger siblings (scooters, balance bikes all welcomed!)

17th July - QE2 Woodhorn Museum Triathlon (Sprint, Standard & Relay Teams)
This perennial favourite is held at Woodhorn Museum in the QE2 Country Park which boasts a 16 hectare lake surrounded by developing woodland and open grasslands. The swim will be in the warm shallow freshwater lake. The 'undulating' bike route will take you out towards Widdrington Village, before sweeping onto the coast road near Druridge Bay and then along to Cresswell village with some breath-taking views along the coast line. The run will be on the footpath that winds its way through the woodland and open grasslands that surround the lake and passes the Finish at the end of each lap making this ideal for spectators to cheer everyone on to a great finish. The QE2 Woodhorn Museum Triathlon is an ideal multi-sport event for all abilities, and you are guaranteed a great race.

20th July & 17th August – Triology Events Mid Week Super Sprint
Voted NE Event of the Year 2014.
The event is ideal for beginners looking to complete their first open water triathlon as well as the more experienced triathlete looking to test themselves before a big race and use as a training session. The course will consist of a 400m open water swim at Ellerton Water Park, followed by a 15.5km bike on quiet country roads before completing a flat 2.2km run course around the lake.

23rd July – Cleveland Steelman
This Half Ironman distance event is set in the beautiful location of Ellerton lake. A flat and fast course and excellent value for money.
2000m swim, 58 mile undulating open road course and 13mile off road run.

31st July - Redcar Sprint Triathlon
Fast and exciting race both to take part in and to watch. The race is on a fully closed road circuit right along Redcar's recently modernised seafront, large crowds are just about gaurenteed on a summer Sunday at the seaside. The start is on the beech and the swim follows a course parallel to the shore. The bike is 6 laps of a flat and fast closed road circuit right along the Espanade. The run route is 3 laps of the circuit based around the boating lake and right next to transition. Unusually for a triathlon spectators can follow the whole race without having to go far from the transition area. Plenty of ice cream and amusements for all the family along the course.

6th August - Gr8 Events Sprint Triathlon
Starting with a 750m open water swim in Ellerton Lake, followed by a 20km cycle on quiet roads around the lake, followed by a 6km off-road run. Team option available.

14th August - Sun City Sprint Triathlon
Event Distance - 750m sea swim, 20k bike, 5k run. A beach start on the award winning beach of Seaburn, a fast and fantastic 4 lap bike course taking in the superb coastal road, and a picturesque run along the promenade and parade. Being on the newly developed seafront there are loads of good vantage points, with seats for spectators.

14th August - Weardale Triathlon
A 400 metre swim in the heated open air pool in Stanhope, County Durham followed by a 22km cycle from Stanhope to St John's Chapel finished off with a trail run of around 5k. This event is very beginner friendly and all abilities are welcome and catered for.
