Setting off in Belfast on Monday, Greg successfully completed the first day of the challenge by swimming 800m through Belfast Harbour Marina, before cycling 40 miles and running 9.8 miles to the finish line of BBC Radio Ulster studios.

Day 2 saw the triathlon novice mix up the order of  disciplines, beginning with another 40 miles on the bike, before taking on a 2.5km pool swim in Cardiff International Pool. He finished the day with a 10 mile run.

Having faced flat tyres and aching muscles, it’s not been plain sailing for the BBC Radio 1 DJ who has, so far, raised just short of £170,000. To support him on his journey, former Olympian and Sport Scientist, Greg Whyte OBE, has joined him for each stage of the challenge.

Gregathlon Day 3 commenced this morning in Glasgow, where air temperatures reached 1 degree as he took on his second-open water swim of the week.

He journey will take him on to Sheffield and Norwich, where the personality will complete his triathlon challenge on Friday 12 February.

Sport Relief 2016 is taking place 18-20 March. For more information on BBC Radio 1’s Gregathlon for Sport Relief, please visit here.
