New Warwickshire Club ,Nuneaton Triathlon club have been rewarded for a fantastic first year by winning Coventry , Solihull & Warwickshire sports awards “Newcomer of the year award” supported by BBC Coventry & Warwickshire

The club which started in early 2012 has gone from strength to strength & now boasts 60 members . The project started to meet the growing demand for the sport locally and backed by Nuneaton & Bedworth Leisure Trust & a Triathlon England project including 3 taster days now has a membership of over 60 keen Triathletes.

The clubs motto of I swim, I bike, I run, I AM a triathlete!  sums up a great year for this fledgling club 

John Gabriel from the club said “ we have tried to get the basics right & offer something for everyone from the novice to the seasoned athlete , with weekly sessions for all the disciplines”

He added “we have been fortunate to have been able to find a great venue & had support from Triathlon England & our local leisure trust & we are now developing our coaching within the club & potentially looking to add a junior section next year”

The awards take place on the 18th October in Solihull .
