Bath is one of the leading Universities sitting in 6th place in the UK by the Guardian University Guide 2020. We are a campus University which was also ranked 4th overall out of 122 in the THE Student Experience Survey 2018. We run an integrated British Triathlon World Class Programme and University of Bath Triathlon Centre. Involving both a large recreational squad and two performance squads for full time athletes and students.
Facilities and Training Environment
Bath has a 50m swimming pool which also can be made into two 25m pools, there is also a swimming lake that we use during the summer months. There is a wide variety of riding both on and off road. For key bike sessions we use both a criterium circuit, along with off road trails and a BMX track. Running in Bath is also varied with trail running, canal running and paved bike tracks being used by the triathletes. For our key sessions we use an off road circuit along with an indoor and outdoor running track.
Squad Standards and Eligibility
We use an application process for selection to both the BUCS Performance Group and the High Performance Squad, where athletes will be selected based on their top three performances, along with their ability to enhance the Bath Triathlon Centre environment. The BUCS Performance Group is for students of the University of Bath and the High Performance Squad is for non-students of the university.
