Peasgood Awarded Nicholas Cheffings Para Athlete Bursary

Published:

British PTVI (visual impaired) paratriathlete Alison Peasgood was named as one of ten recipients of the Nicholas Cheffings Para Athlete Bursary for 2024.

The bursary, which is entering its seventh year, provides Peasgood with additional financial support that can be applied to all aspects of her training as she aims to qualify for this year’s Paris Paralympics Games.

Peasgood said: “It is brilliant to be recognised among so many amazing athletes to be deserving of this bursary and I am very grateful of the confidence it shows in me as a new mum trying to qualify for my third Paralympic Games”

She started her 2024 season at World Triathlon Para Series Devonport and finished second alongside guide Brooke Gillies

Also among the recipients was Fran Brown, who finished fourth for ParalympicsGB in paratriathlon at Tokyo 2020. Brown also became PTS2 World Champion in 2019, before winning silver at the 2022 World Championships in what was her final international paratriathlon race.

The bursary forms part of Hogan Lovells partnership with ParalympicsGB where, in addition to the financial support they provide athletes, they are the Official Legal Services Provider through the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, providing continued legal support to the organisation across a variety of areas.
