The Tristars Series roared back into action with a bang on Saturday as around 150 young triathletes battled it out at the Pembrey Circuit for the Pembrey Junior Duathlon event, organised by Celtic Tri. This was the first event in the series since 2019, and the excitement was palpable among the competitors, who ranged in age from 8 to 16.

Despite the weather looking bleak the day before, with heavy wind and rain lashing the area, the sun came out on race day, giving the young triathletes a perfect day to showcase their skills. The event was held at the Pembrey Circuit, which provided the ideal setting for a run followed by bike laps on the circuit, with the finish area right in front of friends and family.

The event saw a mix of seasoned Tristars participants, as well as several novices trying out their first-ever multi-sport event. There were some closely fought battles across all the age groups, with some excellent racing on display.

Despite the fierce competition, there were smiles all around from the competitors who crossed the finish line - tired, but proud of their accomplishments. With competitors from across Wales, and even a few from England, the Pembrey Junior Duathlon was a truly inclusive event that brought together young triathletes from all over.

The success of the event could not have been possible without the many volunteers who gave their valuable time and energy to make it happen. Celtic Tri would like to extend its gratitude to all the businesses and individuals who contributed to the event's success.

Overall, the success of the Pembrey Junior Duathlon has set an exciting tone for the rest of the Tristars series, which promises to be an action-packed and memorable season for all participants.
