Triathlon has made good progress with gender diversity. Of our overall membership, females represent 28% however, this changes significantly with our GO TRI programme which has a 57/43 female/male gender split.
This was recognised in early 2017 when British Trriathlon won National Governing Body of the Year at the Women’s Sports Trust #BeAGameChanger Awards in recognition of our approach to increasing female participation and raising the profile of women in triathlon.
Triathlon is also one of a minority of sports who pay equal prize monies to our elite athletes.
