Mye "I enjoy training at the club as there is a good variety of coaches who all bring something different. I also enjoy the social aspect of the club, everyone involved are so friendly and welcoming!"
Mike "I love my training with White Rock Triathletes due to the friendly, inclusive and supportive nature of the club and it’s members. Whilst It is a relatively new club, and small in size, there are a range of activities and events throughout the year to get involved in, as part of the club championships, or low key group races organised by the club. From structured running interval sessions, to social bike rides through some of the great climbs in South Wales, through to group open water and pool swims. And cake, lots of cake. The essential 4th triathlete discipline, best consumed after and open water swim."
Owen "I initially joined White Rock Tri to help prepare for IronMan Wales 2020. I gained some expert coaching from the team to improve my training methodd and in particular swim coaching. I enjoyed the swimming sessions briefly but soon after initiaing this the pools were closed and all races were cancelled. I enjoy being outdoors and being in the countryside that triathlon training allows you to do. I like the commeraderie involved and I’m thoroughly excited for the 2021 season!"
James "I found out straight away when I got in the pool for the first time since swimming lesson back in school.. I did more depths that day than lengths so I quickly realised I can’t do this on my own.. after hearing about the friendly approach that WR3 offer I had to join and I’ve not looked back since. Great club with loads of training events and meet ups and everyone is willing to support each other no matter your level of ability."
Julie "I train with white rock tri club for the support , training and knowledge that comes from being part of a club and to be part of a team"
Neil "WR3 is a great friendly club, brilliant camaraderie between the members, and superb coaching. There is a great variety to the coaching sessions that you can take part in, which always keeps training interesting. Great club, great people #teamgreen"
Cem "I thoroughly enjoy training as part of a club - training with friends is far more fun than doing it alone. I initially joined WR3 in order to have a group to ride with at the weekends, but I quickly found myself joining in the open water swimming sessions. We have a friendly club league and my performance on the bike and water has steadily increased. I may have achieved the same goals training alone, but doing it as part of a group seems to make it easier."
Henry "I got into coaching through personal training, then via UK athletics and British cycling. It sounds cliched but the biggest reward is seeing people step out of their comfort zones (especially with OWswimming) and progressing through the triathlon distances. It can be such a positive sport with lots of variety and the options to take training and racing as seriously as you wish to."
Ellie "I love coaching this club and our members. Swimming is a technical discipline and when you see them start to enjoy, and smile, because of the improvements it is hugely rewarding for me. Swimming is seen as “getting through” but if you can come out of the water feeling like it was good it’ll set you up for a great bike section."
