Each year, we recognise the people within our sport that give their free time, passion, and energy to developing triathlon within their communities. The work of these wonderful volunteers is invaluable. The majority of sports would not exist without them, and triathlon is no different. Recognising and rewarding the volunteers by way of our workforce awards is one of our ways to say thank you for all the hard work they put in year after year.
Nominations will only be accepted via the online nomination form on the Welsh Triathlon website. Should you have difficulty accessing the form please get in contact with amyjenner@welshtriathlon.org .Entries received after the closing date will unfortunately not be accepted.

All nominations received will be reviewed by a panel made up of Welsh Triathlon staff. The top 4 in each category will be shortlisted by the panel and each category winner will then be chosen by an independent panel.
Terms and conditions
- You do not have to be a Welsh Triathlon member to submit a nomination.
- Nominees must be a member/club afiliated/event permitted with Welsh Triathlon.
- Entries received after the closing date will not be accepted.
- Entries will only be accepted via the links on the Welsh Triathlon website.

Volunteer of the Year
This award is to recognise the efforts of a person who has motivated and inspired, or has created new opportunities within the sport on a voluntary basis for the benefit of others. Volunteers could include club committee members and volunteers, parent helpers, event volunteers and marshals. Perhaps they have created a new event, or improved or contributed to an existing event or training session(s). Maybe they’ve inspired partnerships within new communities orgroups, or inspired and encouraged more volunteers or participants in the
sport.

Coach of the Year
This award is to recognise the efforts of a person who is an outstanding coach, and who coaches on a regular basis for the benefit of others. Tell us about how this coach inspires others, how they actively contribute to club and / or athlete development and how they collaborate with other coaches in order to improve.
Prerequisites:
- Must be affiliated with Welsh Triathlon
- Minimum Level 1 British Triathlon qualified coach
- Must volunteer for a minimum of one hour per week

Technical Official of the Year
This award is to recognise the valuable contribution of our volunteer Technical Officials.
This award will honour an official who has shown commitment to and progression within
the sport. Tell us about why this person is a deserving winner and how their dedication, commitment and reliability has had a positive impact on the sport and officiating in Wales.
- Must be a minimum qualified to LTO and/or Moto Official qualified.
- Must have officiated at a minimum of one Welsh Triathlon permitted event from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023

Event of the year
This category incorporates triathlon and multisport events from 6th December 2020 to 6th December 2021. We want to know how this event has delivered an incredible experience of swim, bike and run for competitors of all levels and spectator, creating a positive reflection of our sport. Please also if applicable use examples of how this event has encouraged awareness and action for the protection of the environment.
Prerequisites:
- Received a British Triathlon event permit.
- Taken place between 1st January 2023 and 31st December 2023

Club of the Year
This award is to recognise clubs that are friendly, welcoming, and fun. We want to know what makes the club outstanding, how it supports their members, and how it has developed volunteers to support them in their role. Does the club have an open door policy and does it strive to find a place for all to take part on a regular basis, providing a great atmosphere and great experience. Tell us how the club is breaking new ground to be our Club of the Year. How does the club attract new members? How does the club provide variety in its activities and how does the club consider equality to ensure a diverse membership?

Inclusivity Award
Swim, bike and run should be an inclusive sport, open to everyone regardless of their background. We want to reward anyone in our sport that is helping to widen access and inclusion whatever their role. This award celebrates the work that community sport and recreation is doing in this very important area. Nominations can include individuals, small groups, clubs or organisations.

Sustainability in Triathlon Award
This award has been created to recognise members, volunteers, clubs, events or organisations which are placing sustainability at the heart of their Triathlon community engagement. This might be by promoting greater environmental responsibility, reducing their climate impact, or enhancing the environmental impact of their clubs or events.

Outstanding Contribution to triathlon*
This award is to recognise the outstanding contribution of a long-standing person (or club /organisation) in the sport. Examples could include a coach who has dedicated their life to the sport, an event organiser who has had a significant impact on the Sport and Wales. A member of a committee who has driven club development for the benefit of others.
*This award will not be open for nominations but will be selected internally by the Welsh Triathlon Staff and Panel
