The first of five English National Championships being held this year are only days away with Derbyshire Duathlon providing the first chance to become national champion in 2023.
The calendar of English National Championships gives Triathlon England Core and Ultimate members the opportunity to compete for national titles in their age group in sprint, standard and middle distance triathlon (swim, bike, run), aquathlon (swim, run) and standard distance duathlon (run, bike, run).
The first championships of the year are being held at Derbyshire Duathlon on Sunday 5 March when national champions and medallists will be decided in duathlon.
The event, hosted by Active Training World, is centred around the picturesque reservoir of Carsington Water in Derbyshire.
Athletes competing in the Standard Distance Championship event will start with a 12km run around the reservoir before taking to the Derbyshire roads for the 40km bike leg and then a final out-and-back 4km run route along the waterside paths.
National titles and medals will be awarded in each age group for both the open and female categories.
After the Standard Distance Duathlon Championships, the next National Championships will be in June when the Grafman Middle Distance Triathlon hosts the Middle Distance Triathlon Championships on 4 June and then Dambuster Triathlon is the venue for the Standard Distance Triathlon Championships on 25 June.
It’s then into September for the Sprint Distance Triathlon Championships at Blithfield Triathlon on 20 August, on the same day Mouth of Tyne Aquathlon hosts the Aquathlon Championships.
