A big weekend at the Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds will also see medals awarded in the second Triathlon England National Championship event of the 2017 season, this time over the swim-run format

Coming just six days after the Sprint Triathlon Championships at Thorpe Park, Roundhay Park in Leeds will host the Triathlon England Aquathlon Championships on Saturday for the second consecutive season. Starting in the same Waterloo Lake venue as Sunday’s World Triathlon Series race, the Aquathlon will comprise of a single loop, 750m swim followed by a two-lap, 5km undulating run course all contained within Roundhay Park.

The fastest Age-Group female athlete overall at the recent ETU Aquathlon European Championships in Bratislava, Chloe Pollard (20-24) will start as the favourite to add British Gold to her European title. A brilliant swimmer, she will surely be the one that all of the other female athletes will be chasing on Saturday.

In the men’s race, Richard Allen (20-24) was the fastest athlete overall 12 months ago at this championship and will be looking to make it a double this year.

The Triathlon England Aquathlon Championships forms part of a busy morning of racing on Saturday, including TriStar, Youth, Junior, GOTRI and Paratriathlon racing.

All of the men will start in one wave at 10:50, with the women starting five minutes later at 10:55.
