The courses and workshops for club coach and volunteers are now open for applications for the 2014-15 season.
Ride Leader Course – Loughborough 11th October 2014
This course is aimed at Triathlon England members who are not coaches but wish to learn how to take group rides for their clubs in a safe and controlled manner. The course is delivered by CTC tutors. The course covers:
· Risk management
· Group Management
· Leading techniques
· Emergency management
The course is a mixture of classroom theory and “on the road” practical learning. This includes the opportunity to practice leading and being lead in various scenarios in small groups. Candidates will need a fully serviceable bicycle, helmet and suitable clothing for the practical session. There are 12 places available. The cost for this course is £110. There are no pre-course qualification so it is open to club volunteers and is ideal for non-coaches.

Leadership in Running Fitness Course – Welbeck College, Loughborough 25th October 2014.
The course is aimed at Triathlon England members who would like to be able to deliver running sessions for their clubs. There is no pre-qualifications required for this course so is open to club volunteers and is ideal for those that don’t coach. The course will enable you to deliver fun and safe sessions to multi-ability groups. The course focuses on understanding and overcoming the barriers to participation. The course is delivered by England Athletics tutors and is an all day course.

Swim Smooth Beginner to Freestyle Coach Workshop – Loughborough 14th December 2014.
Open to Level 1, 2 and 3 triathlon qualified coaches. The course will cover the teaching methods of the freestyle stroke for complete beginners. Course delivery will be by Swim Smooth tutors. Coaches must have a good understanding of freestyle swimming and experience of coaching swimmers who can already swim freestyle. This interactive course is 3 hours and has two slots available on the day of 9am or 1pm. There are 12 places available. The cost of this course is £55 however it is open to club coaches for free if they contact me directly first.

Coaches Paratriathlon Workshop - Moulton College, Northamptonshire 2nd November 2014
This workshop is for Level 1, 2, and 3 triathlon qualified coaches. The workshop aims to increase awareness of paratriathlon and the different classifications of disabilities that compete. The workshop will give practical advice and coaching tips for the wide variety people who take part. The workshop is a mixture of classroom study and practical delivery using specialist equipment to give coaches a real experience of coaching paratriathletes.

Regional Technical Course – Nuneaton 14th March 2015
The RTO course is the next step on the officiating pathway and builds upon the skills and knowledge gained during the course and operating as an LTO. It further develops these skills while adding to them.

A Local Technical Officials course will take place around the same time and is likely to be based in Loughborough.
