The East Midlands is please to offer a number of courses for club members and coaches. These courses have been subsidised to enable clubs to deliver effective sessions across the triathlon disciplines.
A provisional programme and a brief description of each course is outlined below.
Ride Leaders: Loughborough 11 October 2014
The workshop is aimed at Triathlon England members who are not coaches but wish to learn how to take group rides. The course is delivered by CTC tutors. The course covers:
1. Risk management
2. Group Management
3. Leading techniques
4. Emergency management
The course is a mixture of classroom theory and “on the road” practical learning. This includes the opportunity to practice leading and being lead in various scenarios in small groups. Candidates will need a fully servicaeable bicycle, helmet and suitable clothing for the practical session. There are 12 places available. The cost for this course is £110. Leadership in Running Fitness : Welbeck College, Loughborough 25 October 2014
The course is aimed at Triathlon England members w who would like to be able to deliver running sessions for their clubs; this is open to coaches and non-coaches. The course will enable you to deliver fun and safe sessions to multi-ability groups. The course focuses on understanding and overcoming the barriers to participation. The course is delivered by England Athletics tutors and is an all day course. The cost of this course is £110. To register for this course please click here.
Teaching Beginners to Swim Freestyle: 29th November 2014
Open to Level 1, 2 and 3 Triathlon England qualified coaches. The course will cover the teaching methods of the freestyle stroke for complete beginners. Course delivery will be by Swim Smooth tutors. Coaches must have a good understanding of freestyle swimming and experience of coaching swimmers who can already swim freestyle. This interactive course is 3 hours has two slots available on the day of 9am or 1pm. There are 12 places available. The cost of this course is £55. To register for this course please click here.
The Triathlon Coach Education programme for 2014-15 for the East Midlands is being finalised, the initial programme will consist of two Level 1 courses and two level 2 courses . The planned dates and venues should be confirmed than mid-July 2014. Once they are confirmed they will be placed on the website here and will be open for applications.

Welbeck College - 27 & 28 September and 26 October 2014
Moulton College - 24 & 25 January and 22 February 2015
Level 2 Triathlon Coaching Course
Welbeck College - 1, 2, 29 & 30 November 2014 and 29 March 2015
Yarborough Leisure Centre, Lincolm - 7 & 8 February, 7 & 8 March and 19 July 2015.
