Calling all East Midlands Clubs and Event Organisers!! Next year will see a further expansion of the Go Tri Events programme and we would like you to be a part of that programme. This is a great opportunity to grow participation and to get new people into your sport!!

Most of you will have heard of GO TRI and quite a few clubs have put on GO TRI Events this year.  The brand has seen a  fantastic growth in triathlon both nationally and across the East Midlands.  Clubs have gained new members, raised funds and help beginners achieve their goals.

What are GO TRI Events?  They are an affordable, easy to put on, short distance multi-sport events with no frills aimed at beginners and those trying to step into entering events for the first time.  They can consist of an aquathon, triathlon, duathlon and can be on road or off road.

Who puts the GO TRI Events on?  Triathlon England is looking to support clubs, race organisers, local authorities and leisure centres in putting on events in their local area. 

What support is provided to organisers?  Triathlon England will provide assistance with the planning, risk assessments and how to set up an event.  There is also support avaiable in terms of race signage, swim hats and marketing.

What does it cost?  There are no permit fees so the only costs involved are those for the facilitiy hire and any other associated cost that the event organiser deems necessary; please remember the ethos is no frills so there is no need for racking, t-shirts, medals etc.  Race fees should be kept as low as possible to encourage maximum participation with all profits being retained by the event organiser.

What does the organiser have to provide?  The organiser has to guarantee a minimum of 4 events over a calendar year at the same venue.  To source an appropriate venue that provides a simple race circuit, to provide the marshals on the day, with manual timing and then provide results for the GO TRI website.

What does the event organiser get from putting on an event?  Organisers get the full support of Triathlon England. They receive publicity for their club/organisation, gain new members and get to keep all profits from the events to support club development.
