Go Tri Weekender a Hit!

Published:

The weekend of the 25/26 April was the Go Tri 1000 weekend which saw the national launch of Go Tri Events. The East Midlands saw 5 venues hosting events on the weekend to enable first timers the opportunity to enter their first ever multisport event.

The weekend of 25/26 April saw 5 locations put on GO TRI Events across the East Midlands.  This was a fantastic effort seeing new GO TRI Events in Chesterfield, Loughborough, Melton Mowbray, Newark and Skegness that saw nearly 100 novices having a go at their first event.

These events do not run themselves so a special thanks should go to the orgainers and their clubs/leisure provider: Robin Fisher (Chesterfield Triathlon Club), Nathaniel Leney (Fusion Lifestyle), Steve Squires (Belvoir Triathlon Club), Jenny Scrimshaw (Lincoln Triathlon Club) and Peter Nicholls  (Skegness Triathlon Club).  Thank you to all the organisers and their helpers for putting on such great events.

The pictures on here are all from the events of the day and Newark even managed to get in their local newspaper; does help when you convince the Sports Editor to have a go!!  See the article here.

These locations are now going to host another three events this year alongside our regular GO TRI events.  So if you know someone that wants to get into triathlon then let them know about GO TRI Events.  If you are a regular triathlete you can also use these events to hone your skills so please do not feel left out.

For more information go to the Go Tri website.

For any clubs that would like to put on these worthwhile events please contact the Regional Manager, Peter Pain, via email.
