New Level 2 Course

Bookings are now being taken for a new Level 2 Coaching in Triathlon course to be held at Welbeck College in Loughborough.

Course overview

5 days including 1 practical assessment day

40-60 hours home study includes practical coaching

Blended learning programme, including  on line learning, classroom and practical delivery

Assessment through  on line tasks, written portfolio  and practical coaching (on course and club environment)

 

Course Pre-requisites

Hold home nation membership

Minimum age 18 years on application

Have a least 1 year’s involvement in triathlon (Training/ Racing/ Volunteering/ Coaching)

Understand the basic technical components of triathlon (Swim/ Bike/ Run)

Candidates will have either completed a Level 1 Triathlon Qualification or meet Direct Entry requirements -  link to direct entry requirements 

Course content

·         Understanding athletes needs/aspirations and goal setting

·         Planning & periodisation

·         Risk assessment and action planning 

·         further develop technical skills

·         Integration of sport science disciplines into coaching practise

Coaching remit

A Level 2 coach can independently plan, deliver and evaluate triathlon related activities to groups of children and/ or adults.
