The next round of the East Midlands Junior Race Series takes place at Mallory Park on 31 May 15. This event is an open water event on a traffic free race circuit and is the same venue as the Inter-Regional Championship that takes place later in the year.
Mallory Park Children's Open Water Triathlon
The next round of the East Midlands Junior Race Series will take place on Sunday 31st May at the iconic Mallory Park Racing Circuit. The event is the only open water triathlon in the series and is hosted by Cycling Mallory Ltd. It will be on the same circuit as the Under 20's Triathlon Festival and Inter Regional Championships in September 2015. The whole day will be dedicated to children with racing will continue throughout the day with each class having their own seperate race. Our aim is to ensure everyone has a safe, rewarding and most importantly an enjoyable, fun day
The Swim
The 16 acre lake at Mallory Park is spring fed and weed free, with excellent water quality. This event will in the main take place in the North side of the lake where the depth averages 1.5 metres, perfect for children, especially those new to open water swimming. For the 2015 season the lake has been drained, a brand new entry/exit ramp is currently being constructed and all debris cleared before being re-filled. Our swim safety team will be in both the water and boats to ensure everyone is looked after and has an enjoyable, safe swim.
Transition
Perfect for both athletes and spectators. Right in the centre of the paddock, just a few metres from the waters edge with no long runs to endure. Secure racking for all your valuable equipment and plenty of room to manoeuvre.
The bike
What could be better for children and more exciting to race on than a super smooth motor racing circuit. No pot holes, T junctions, roundabouts or traffic lights and most importantly no traffic! All the athletes need to worry about is there own race and enjoying themselves.
The Run
Depending on which class you are in the run will take in part of the racing circuit, the inner perimeter track and the paddock. Again perfect for both athletes and spectators. Fully marshalled and sign posted to ensure everyone knows exactly which way to go.
The Finish
In full view of everyone right in the centre of the paddock. Great for cheering everyone across the line and encouraging that sprint finish.
Prizes
The top three boys and girls in each class will be awarded prizes. However, there will also be some great spot prizes awarded during the day so everyone no matter what ability has a chance of winning something.
Facilities
The Lakeside Cafe & Diner will be open throughout the day serving hot and cold food, it also has a licensed bar. Showers and changing rooms are available and of course ample parking. Camping, caravans and motorhomes can be catered for please contact Cycling Mallory for further details.

Youth - 15-16 yrs - 400m swim, 10k bike, 3k run
Tristar 3 - 13-14 yrs - 250m swim, 7k bike, 2.4k run
Tristar 2 - 11-12 yrs - 250m swim, 5k bike, 1.8k run
Tristar 1 - 9-10 yrs - 150m swim, 3k bike, 1.2k run
Tristarts - 8 yrs - 50m swim, 1.5k bike, 600m run.

Please note should you wish to try out the superb multi sports facilities at Mallory Park prior to this event, we are open at certain times throughout the year for cycling, running and for open water swimming during the spring and summer months. We can also provide coaching for all triathlon disciplines should you require them.
