There was golden success for our youth athletes at the ETU Youth Championships in Greece and at the National School Games Finals in Loughborough.

East Midlands Libby Coleman took gold to become the European Youth Champion at this year finals in Loutraki Greece on 1st September 2018.

Fellow Brit and East Midlands athlete Fynn Batkin who finished 8th at his A final then teamed up with Libby, Connor Bentley and Freya Thomson in the mixed relay event that took place on 2nd September. Libby took the first leg and tagged to Fynn with a 2 second lead over their nearest rival. An awesome leg from Fynn gave Freya a 5 second advantage. She then held off tough advances and handed over to Connor in joint first who brought home Gold in a close last leg!

Success on home soil came from the mixed relay team at the National School Games held in Loughborough. This competition sees the best young individuals and teams take part in competition across a weekend of sport. This was the first time triathlon had featured at the National School Games Finals and Team East Midlands took home Gold!
