Upcoming East Midlands AGM - Chairman's message

Dear Triathlon England Member

As you will have seen, the East Midlands Regional Committee are holding their Workshop and Annual General Meeting on the 14th of October 2018 at the Triathlon England HQ which is located in the grounds of Loughborough university.

The purpose of the AGM is to two-fold, firstly to report on the year which has just passed and then to elect your Regional Committee for 2018/19.

Your regional committee members are your representatives and act on your behalf and cover various important functions within the region, for example the Junior Race Series Regional co-ordinator looks after all aspect of the series from helping to select the races within the series to ensuring that the awards are presented to the worthy winners.

As you are aware, membership of the committee is open to anyone who resides within the region and who is a full paid up member of Triathlon England. We rely on volunteers who can give freely of their time and who are committed to helping the regions triathletes have the best experiences, to help develop the best coaches and above all to safeguard our sport for future generations.

If you would like to stand for membership of the committee, the process is simple and straightforward:

  1. You must be a paid up member of Triathlon England and in good standing.
  2. You must live in the East Midlands Region.
  3. You must be proposed and seconded by members of Triathlon England who are also paid up members and in good standing and who also live in the East Midlands.
  4. You must be willing to serve on the committee, attend meetings (normally on a bi-monthly basis in Newark) and be prepared to give on average 3 hours a week to the role.

If you would like to join us, then simply drop me an email (jamiegordon@triathlonengland.org) with your details (name, contact number and TE membership number), the role you would like to stand for along with details of your proposer and seconder (name, email address, contact number and TE membership numbers) any time before the 12th of October to be considered.

I look forward to see you all at the Workshops and AGM on the 14th of October.

Yours in sport

Jamie Gordon
