The inaugural Big Island Sea Swim 2018 is around Whitmore Bay, Barry Island, coinciding with Visit Wales Year of the Sea. This event is for newbies to sea swimming and the more experienced, with two distances, 500m and 1500m to choose from. There is plenty of parking, a promenade for spectators and plenty of groovy cafes. There will be stand up paddle boards lessons and swim and swim triathlon coaching sessions available (pay separately on the day).All competitors will receive a medal.
