The event takes place in a small bay beneath the shadow of the iconic remains of Tynemouth Priory.

The swim includes an Australian style exit which makes for spectacular viewing for spectators.

The run takes athletes alongside the River Tyne to North Shields Fish Quay and returns to the bay to finish with a unique run along the North Pier and back to the finish below Tynemouth Priory.
