Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Welsh valleys, the race comprises a 750m lake swim followed by two laps of the lake, totalling 5k for a nice flat run.

The Parc Bryn Bach Aquathlon Series is a fun, friendly and relaxed mid-week event, the series provides cheap and accessible racing for all local athletes and a great way to get some good race training and some open water practice.

The course will be familiar to those who have competed at Parc Bryn Bach over the years, 750m swim around the lake's islands, followed by a flat 5km (2.5k loop x 2) around the edge of the lake.

There is no minimum ability to enter, however it is advisable that you are confident in your ability to swim 750m in cold open water.  A cut off time of 25 minutes from race start for the swim will be enforced at the discretion of the organisers and entrants must have started their second lap of the run 45 minutes from race start.

Wetsuits are mandatory.

Relay Teams - We will not be accepting entries from relay teams this year.

Swim Only - If you want to undertake the swim only and guarantee a place, you will be required to enter as a full place athlete, pay the same fee and just inform registration on the night that you will only be completing the swim. Cut off time for the swim still applies.

Race Starts at 7.00pm - Registration between 5.30pm - 6.30pm in the Visitors Centre.

Last registration will be at 6.30pm sharp regardless of if you have pre-entered, so please arrive in plenty of time.

Entries can only be made on-line up to 48 hours prior to the event.  We will not be accepting on the night entries this year.

Refund Policy The aquathlon series has a no-refund policy however at the organiser's discretion, transfers to future events may be possible providing that the participant contacts the events registration manager on newporttri@gmail.com at least 48 hours prior to the start date.
