The Beaver is the original triathlon event at Belvoir Castle (beware of imitations). 2014 will be this popular triathlon event's 9th year and it will once again be based in the stunning grounds of the Leicestershire Castle itself, with all racing taking place in the Castle grounds and surrounding area. The middle distance triathlon consists of 1.9k swim - 74k bike - 20k run. The standard distance is 1500m swim - 40k bike - 10k run & sprint distance is 750m swim - 20k bike - 5k run. As one of the UK's first middle distance triathlon events of the year,The Beaver provides the ideal opportunity for triathletes to really test themselves early on in the season. It is also ideal for anybody building up to the challenge of running a long distance triathlon event during the summer. This open water triathlon will take place on Saturday morning with the Little Beaver Olympic distance triathlon and the Speedy Beaver sprint triathlon taking place on the Sunday morning.
