As part of Welsh Triathlon’s Multisport Weekend, The Bala Team Relays will provide a platform for established clubs to go head to head and compete for the Welsh National Club Relay Championship, as well as allowing newcomers to the sport the opportunity to get together and have a taste of what triathlon has to offer.

What is a Team Relay?
Unlike a traditional relay, where each competitor completes their individual elements before his or her team mate continues, each discipline needs to be completed by all participants before moving on to the next, resulting in a faster, more exciting event.

Each member of the team individually swims 300 metres before moving onto the bike leg, each athlete individually completes the 9km course, until the last team member passes over the timing chip to the first team member to start the 2km run section.

Will include the Welsh National Team Relay Championship for Home Nation members and clubs, as well as open team and mixed team categories. Teams consisting of four individual Home Nations members from the same club will compete for the Welsh National Club Relay Championships, while other teams will compete within the open relay category. National Championship awards will be awarded to Male and Female across Junior, Senior and Vet 40 and Vet 50 categories, whilst mixed awards will be awarded to Junior, Senior and Vet 40 Categories.
