On 30th September London hosts a Tata Kids of Steel event in Newham (E13 8SD) and we are in need of some volunteers.
The Tata Kids of Steel Triathlon is now in it's 7th year and is set to be bigger and better than its original impressive opening in 2007. The events, which are spread across the UK, aim to introduce school children to this exciting sport in a safe and enjoyable way. Since its inception, the series has seen over 50,000 children introduced to the sport.
To ensure it is a successful and enjoyable day we need a strong base of committed volunteers. If you can volunteer to help out you would be key in the delivery of this event. There is some information on the day below, should you beconsiderig helping out.
Roles:
There are a variety of roles which will be spilt to cover the following:
• Registration Support
• Swim Marshals
• Transition Marshals
• Bike Route Marshals
• Run Route Marshals
• Finish Line Helpers
• Box Carriers
The day would last from 08:30 to 14:30pm at the latest. You would be given a briefing and after the briefing you will be allocated to a team leader and asked to volunteer for different roles. You then will be given a volunteer t-shirt/bib that you need to wear throughout the day so that you are easily identifiable to the children. After the briefing there will be enough time to allow for any questions that you may have.
What should you bring?
• Suitable clothing and footwear.
• Sun hat and Sun cream (if sunny!)
• Waterproofs (in case it rains)
• A packed lunch will be provided but please feel free to bring your own food and drink and dispose of any rubbish in the allocated bins.
