Brockwell lido played host to Round 6 of the London League on Sunday 30th June for the Windrush Aquathlon

Hot on the heels of last weekend's Bridge Triathlon, Brockwell lido played host to Round 6 of the London League on Sunday for the Windrush Aquathlon. Glorious sunshine meant the 120+ racers had perfect conditions for the 500m swim and 5km run event, the only nice to have difficulty being whether to go wetsuit or non-wetsuit with the lido temperature of 21.9degC being just under the 22degC non-wetsuit cut-off.

In the individual age-group competitions, Katie Curd (Tri London) took first in the Women's race in 29:36 followed by Elkie Mace (Crystal Palace) in second and Christina Jenkins (Ful-on Tri) in third. Euan Lees (Ful-on Tri) took the Men's title in 26:56 followed by the Clapham Chasers' duo of David Kettle in second and Alex Lake in third.

The Team competitions were keenly faught between Clapham Chasers, Crystal Palace and host club Windrush. Clapham took the Men's and Mob Match honours with Crystal Place taking the Women's and Mixed competitions, leaving Windrush to take 3rd spot in all four Team competitions.

Thanks to Windrush for a great race as always with great event goodies and free cakes!! The League takes a short break before heading to Thorpe Park for the Triproject /Clapham hosted standard distance triathlon on July 14th.
