Womens Cycling Skills Session: 10 September 2017

We have teamed with Tri50 (www. Tri50.co.uk) to offer a Women’s coached cycling skills session at Minet Park, Hillingdon, a 1mile TRAFFIC FREE cycle circuit aimed at beginners and those looking to develop cycling skills and confidence.

The session will be led by highly experienced L3 female Triathlon coaches and geared towards developing and improving basic cycling ability and knowledge.  

Whether your goal is to ride with friends or perhaps a Sportive or a Triathlon, you will leave the session with the skills necessary to make your riding more enjoyable and efficient and to improve your safety on the roads and the knowledge to build your cycling volume.  You might also meet some new cycling buddies for future riding!

What is covered?

  • Group riding – including signalling, group etiquette, dealing with varying road conditions
  • Braking skills
  • Ascending and Descending
  • Gearing – which ones, when and why
  • Cornering – particularly when descending
  • Riding in cleats – perfect opportunity to get used to riding in cleats if you wish
  • Basic mechanicals – eg. puncture repair, dropped chain

What do you need to bring?

  • Enthusiasm
  • Roadworthy bike and helmet -  NO HELMET, NO RIDING
  • Drinks and snacks
  • Layered clothing as you will be stopping and starting and may need to adapt layers, and a waterproof jacket if you have one
  • Notepad and pen if you wish

  • Hillingdon Cycle circuit,  11-12 Springfield Rd, Hayes UB4 0JS
  • Sunday 10th September
  • 9.30 – 12.30

Cost

  • Having partnered with Triathlon England, Tri50 are able to deliver this session for £15 per person.
