British Triathlon encourages females to pledge their support for Women’s Sport Week

British Triathlon is calling on women across the country to help celebrate Women’s Sport Week by pledging their intent to take part in triathlon activity.

A range of prizes, aimed to help participants along in their triathlon journey are up for grabs for those who pledge to take part in a swim, a bike or a run (or all three) during Women’s Sport Week, taking place from 19 -25 June 2017.

Many women are choosing the sport to get fit, set a new challenge and to meet new people and we’re encouraging even more to give triathlon a go

The pledge is just part of seven days of top tips, advice and features set to be shared by the National Governing Body, along with beginner training sessions and events taking place across the seven days.

Natalie Justice-Dearn, British Triathlon Director of Delivery, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be supporting Women’s Sport Week again in 2017. We already have a very well established level of women participating in the sport and it is growing every day, with 50% of GO TRI registrations being from women.

“Many women are choosing the sport to get fit, set a new challenge and to meet new people, as well as to get competitive, and we’re encouraging even more to give triathlon a go.”

With a number of prizes up for grabs for those who show their support, top prizes include triathlon kit and accessories donated from a number of British Triathlon’s Official Sponsors and Partners, including Roka, Kitbrix, Garmin and P20. Both British Triathlon Home Nation Members and those who are yet to join the triathlon family are invited to take part.
