British Triathlon launches Swim Bike Run in England

British Triathlon is launching a brand-new programme to encourage people to get active and take up swim, bike, run in England.

The Swim Bike Run programme is community focused and offers families of all abilities the chance to take part in the three sports that make up a triathlon. Replacing the GO TRI programme, Swim Bike Run will consist of five different initiatives.

Swim Bike Run Mini, which was debuted at AJ Bell 2023 World Triathlon Championship Series Sunderland for the first time on Saturday, is a bite sized event that consist of two or three elements of swim, bike and run and is great for families and beginners who are taking part for the first time.

Swim Bike Run Local is a monthly opportunity that provides people with the chance to create fitness habits that last a lifetime. Those taking part will be able to do as much or as little as they like, allowing for people at all steps of their fitness journey to take part.

The Swim Bike Run Explore sessions provide participants with the opportunity to take part in a guided activity that takes them to their local nature spots. This allows them to take part in a fun activity while connecting with nature and their local community.

Another initiative of the new programme is Swim Bike Run Develop. This aspect is a coached session for adults of all abilities to empower them to learn new skills. Covering an array of different session in many environments, participants will be given the skills needed to continue their journey within triathlon.

The final initiative of the new programme is The BIG Swim Bike Run. This is targeted at adults who feel ready to take on a triathlon – a chance to experience swim, bike and run whilst getting that festival feel. The BIG Swim Bike Run is timed event where you are rewarded with a medal at the end!
