Great Britain’s Age-Groupers start the Fyn ITU Multisport World Championships in style with 27 medals

Published:

The 2018 edition of the ITU Multisport World Championships kicked off on Friday, with the Standard Distance Age-Group Duathlon World Championships getting the event off to a flying start for the large British entry.

A total of 27 medals – nine of each colour – were earned in Fyn, Denmark. Gold medal winners included Gill Fullen (featured here) and Lee Piercy, both defending their titles from Penticton 2017 and adding even more success to already impressive race results in Great Britain colours.

Daniel Jenkin (30-34) recorded the fastest time overall in the men’s race across the multiple wave starts to earn Gold in the M30-34 category. Moving up from Silver in Penticton last year, Rachel Wiseman (F35-39) took Gold, and set the fastest British time of the day from wave one, just 45 seconds faster than Gill Fullen, who was the first finisher overall finisher from wave two.

In earning Bronze in the F65-69 category, Elspeth Knott achieved her 20th podium finish in ITU/ETU competition.

Here is the full listing of Great Britain Age-Group podium success from Fyn.
