26 Technical Officials and Event Organisers gathered at Loughborough University earlier this month for a joint venture between British Triathlon and the ITU, in order to build foundations for a successful 2016.

The Technical Officials and Event Organisers Level 2 Seminar took place across the weekend of 31 October, seeing Senior Manager ITU Technical Operations, Thanos Nikopoulos, along with Triathlon England Director Events, Rules and Technical, Duncan Hough,  and British Triathlon Technical Committee Chair, Howard Vine, deliver a two-day seminar to European and Canadian delagates at the University.

Howard Vine said: “We are delighted to be able to host an ITU Level 2 course in Britain. Thanks to British Triathlon for facilitating this seminar in order to ensure that our existing Continental Technical Officials (CTOs) are able to revalidate their qualification, and additionally enabling additional National Technical Officials (NTOs) to upgrade to CTO level.

"It has also been a pleasure to welcome seven officials from Germany, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands to Loughborough, as well as five Event Organisers from Canada, Sweden and Finland.”
