Bank Holiday Monday (31 August) will see GO TRI hit Chester city centre with GO TRI Deva Aquathlon organised by Chester Triathlon Club.

Covid-19 has meant that what was billed as the fourth and final event in their series, will be the first and last GO TRI Deva Aquathlon of 2020.

Accommodating all abilities, this bank holiday event is aimed at participants new to multisport and those not ready to take on Chester Triathlon Club’s larger events, helping  to make the sport accessible within the city and region.

GO TRI is British Triathlon’s introductory programme of activities, with local organisers hosting GO TRI Events and Active sessions across the country to provide accessible opportunities for newcomers to give multisport a go.

There are two distances on offer for participants at GO TRI Deva Aquathlon this weekend, with individuals deciding whether they complete one or two laps of both the swim and run.

One lap distances: 350m swim and 2.5km run

Two lap distances: 750m swim and 5km run

The swim takes place in the River Dee, with the start and finish at the Queen’s Park High School boat jetty, before the run route leads participants through the Queen’s Park Rowing Club grounds and along the riverside path before returning to the rowing club to finish.

You can find GO TRI Events and Active sessions to help you in your swim, bike, run journey by signing up to the community for free. There’s also a wealth of online guides and top tips to taking part, plus, with over 25,000 members, the GO TRI community is a great place to be.
