One from the weekend

Published:

This weekend saw the Bath Duathlon take place at the Odd Down Cycling Circuit, providing participants with the opportunity to run, bike, run in the South West.

As with much of the country, Bath experienced wind and rain on Saturday, however this didn’t dampen the spirits of those taking part or the volunteers there to support them.

Bringing October to a close, this was the eighth edition of the event and was open for participants from the age of nine upwards. With distances appropriate for the different age groups, the event took place on a traffic free course around the cycling circuit and surrounding fields.

New for 2020 was the introduction of a team pursuit which gave teams of four the chance to come together and race as one. The event format and layout was adapted to comply with Covid-19 guidance including an online video briefing in advance and time trial starts.

The fastest times were achieved by Ollie Squire (TriStar 1), Macey Burge (TriStar 2), Harry Maxwell (TriStar 3), Jeremy Maclean (Youth) and Tom Radley (Juniors and Seniors), with Christopher Crowther from Team Hemiscorpiidae setting the quickest individual time in the Team Pursuit.
