Published:

British Triathlon is seeking volunteers to work at the water exit during the Paratriathlon events at the PruHealth World Triathlon Grand Final London in September.

We need volunteers to support the ITU Paratriathlon World Championships and ITU Para-aquathlon World Championships, by acting as water exit handlers.

NB: We have now filled all our volunteer positions. Thanks for the fantastic response

Full training will be provided, and those involved will be play a crucial role in each athletes race to become to world champion. Interested individuals should be physically fit, and not afraid to get a bit wet.

In return each person will receive full training in water handling paratriathletes and a volunteer pack including uniform and refreshments for the duration of their time volunteering.

Oppurtunities are as follows:

Tuesday 10th September, 17:00 – 19:00, Training
Wednesday 11th September, 8:00 – 10:00, Para Aquathlon World Championships
Friday 13th September, 12:30 – 16:00, Paratriathlon World Championships

This is an excellent opportunity for triathlon clubs and event organisers to learn how to best support paratriathletes. Learning skills and techniques they can take back to their normal triathlon lives and implement to make our sport more inclusive.

Any interested people should email johnmuddeman@britishtriathlon.org or call 01509 226161. We are looking for 15 – 20 people, so groups are most certainly welcome. Each person must be available for all the shifts shown.
