Rio Paratriathlon silver medal winners, Alison Patrick and Hazel Macleod, won medals at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Los Angeles, USA this weekend. Not competing together on this occasion, they won three medals between them.

Patrick, the 29 year old Scot, won a silver and a bronze medal, guided by experienced rider, Helen Scott. They won silver in the tandem sprint on Sunday, having won Time Trial bronze on Saturday. Macleod guided for Lora Fachie and won silver in the individual pursuit.

Patrick and Macleod seized the opportunity presented by British Cycling to join the paracyling team. The key objectives were to improve cycling skills and power ahead of the paratriathlon season starting next month.

Commenting on Twitter, Patrick said: “I have had such a fun adventure with @Scottie2507 over the last 8 weeks and to finish with silver in the sprint is awesome!!”
