Challenge yourself in a new adventure with the launch of the brand-new Swim Bike Run app now available to download.

The Swim Bike Run app, created by British Triathlon, is a new companion to an active outdoor lifestyle, encouraging children, adults and families to get moving and explore the world around them through adventure, challenges and exclusive prizes.

This fun and interactive new app has four main components:

  • SEEK - go on an adventure and try and find unique characters in the real world. Unlock prizes and entries to prize draws by collecting different combinations of characters.
  • ACTIVITY GOALS – unlock a character by completing 10,000 steps each day, for four days in a row within a week.
  • LOCATION CHECK-IN – unlock a character by checking in or visiting the British Triathlon team, when they are out and about in England.
  • TAKE YOUR NEXT STEP – learn more about British Triathlon and how to get involved in swim, bike, run.

Swim Bike Run Adventure is one of the main features of the app and is an interactive game to find and collect hidden characters, which will unlock different benefits and attribute to different prizes.

The characters can be collected by finding them with a phone camera when moving around, completing activity challenges or by visiting specific geographic locations.

With the launch of the app, coinciding with the start of the Commonwealth Games, a character will be available to find in Sutton Park, where the triathlon and paratriathlon events are taking place during Birmingham 2022.

The character will be able to be found when visiting the British Triathlon stand in the Sutton Park spectator plaza on Friday 29 and Sunday 31 July, and again later in the summer at the British Triathlon Super Series Grand Final in Sunderland (20-21 August).

The app, which has been developed through funding from Sport England’s Birmingham 2022 Digital Innovation Fund, will continue to grow and expand to provide interesting ways to get out and explore the environment with new activities being constantly added.

Helen Marney, Director of Development at British Triathlon, said: “We’re really excited to be able to offer a new way of experiencing the world of swim, bike, run by launching our Swim Bike Run app. This is a major step forward for us in driving new ways for new and more diverse audiences to engage in swim, bike and run and we have some ambitious plans to grow and develop the app over time, so it becomes a core part of the way both new and existing people interact with us and enjoy engagement in our sport.

“Thanks to funding from Sport England, as part of their Commonwealth Games Digital Innovation Programme, we’re delighted also to be able to launch the new app to coincide with the Commonwealth Games. The unique showcase that the Games offer will be a great opportunity for us to introduce swim, bike, run to more people and I’m extremely excited to see us engaging with more young people, families and communities through the app and then supporting them in their ongoing journey into the world of swim, bike, run and triathlon.

“The app will build on and bring to life the work already being developed and delivered in increasing swim, bike, run opportunities in communities across England. It’s a lot of fun, accessible and easy to use – so download it now and start exploring.”

The app is available to download in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Simply search Swim Bike Run and it will appear in the results list.
