Blair Cartmell, Katie Hewison and Scott Murray have been named on the UK Coaching Performance Foundation Coach Support Programme for 2020.
The UK Coaching Performance Foundation Coach Support Programme is designed to help coaches maximise their potential and impact. The three selected are all Regional Academy Leads and their selection will help them to further develop up-and-coming athletes in their region.
Cartmell (South West), Hewison (North West) and Murray (South Central) will benefit from one-to-one mentoring through the programme
In total, 47 new coaches from 17 summer and winter Olympic and Paralympic sports have been welcomed onto the 18-month programme. This cohort is the programme’s third, having helped nearly 100 coaches in previous years
Through a blended learning approach, coaches will have the benefit of:
- one-to-one coach developer support
- cross-sport communities of practice and learning
- online social learning environments
- workshop delivery from industry experts to expand knowledge and challenge thinking
Matt Divall, Triathlon England Pathway Manager, said “As Regional Academy Leads, Blair, Katie and Scott all play a vital role in the development of the next generation of triathletes starting their journey on the Performance Pathway.
“This is a fantastic opportunity provided by UK Coaching to support them to grow as coaches and help further develop their skills when working with the athletes and coaches within their academy”.
