Tim Don sets fastest ever IRONMAN branded event performance

Published:

Tim Don has set the fastest ever time at an IRONMAN branded event with a stunning 7hrs 40:23 over a 3800m swim, 112mile bike and 26.2mile run in Brazil. Jan Frodeno, the 2008 Olympic Champion and IRONMAN world champion, has gone faster at the Challenge Roth event over the same distance, but Don’s time is second only to that performance.

Don’s performance was set at the IRONMAN South American Championship Brazil in

Florianopolis. His splits were: Swim 44:16; Bike 4:06:56; Run 2:44:46.

Frodeno’s world best time currently stands at 7:35:39 set on Roth’s notoriously fast course in 2016. Don’s performance was his best by a long way, he’d never previously broken 8 hours.

Britain's Susie Cheetham won the women's race in a new course record time of 8:52:00.
