There was plenty of triathlon to watch over the weekend with the final triathlon events of the Commonwealths and the IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside. If you missed the action, here is your weekend roundup to catch up.

If you were burning the midnight oil to watch the Paratriathlon and Mixed Relay races at the Commonwealth Games you would have seen the success of the Brit athletes on Saturday. In the Paratriathlon, Joe Townsend and Jade Jones-Hall secured themselves gold at the games with Mark Conway finishing strong at his first major games coming in fourth. In the women’s race Scotland’s Karen Darke came in fourth just ahead of England’s Lizzie Tench.

The Mixed Relay didn’t disappoint as Team England finished their Commonwealth campaign with Silver finishing behind the Australian’s. Wales had a strong finishing 8 seconds behind Bermuda putting them sixth place closely followed by Team Scotland in seventh.

The Brit’s continued their success across the Atlantic Ocean in California at the IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside as Holly Lawrence finished in second with an impressive time of 04:16:26.

Sunday, Australia hosted another triathlon this weekend with athletes heading to Melbourne for the St. Kilda OTU Triathlon Oceania Cup and Triathlon Oceania Championships where Team Scotland’s reserve Fergus Roberts was the only Brit racing, where he finished in seventh.
