Click on the button below for our full preview of the ETU European Championships. Update from the organisers (13.9.19): due to the recent weather and forecasts in Valencia, the Paratriathlon Championships will start at 15:00 local time and the U23 Championship races will take place over a sprint distance (750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run) on Saturday. The mixed relay will now start at 13:00 (local time) on Sunday.

IRONMAN racing returns to Britain this weekend as the Welsh town of Tenby plays host to pro and age group athletes alike. Lucy Gossage and Laura Siddall will be leading the way for the pro women wearing bib numbers 1 and 2. Gossage claimed the victory last year in Wales and was the only female to finish in under 10 hours.

Joe Skipper, seventh at the 2018 IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, will be racing this weekend as part of his preparations for Kona this time around. Reece Barclay and Sam Pictor will join Skipper in Pembrokeshire as they seek to secure a British victory on home shores. This popular race starts on Tenby’s North Beach before heading out in the countryside of South Wales for the bike and run.

2019 Zagreb ETU Triathlon Junior European Cup

Representing Great Britain in Croatia will be Ben Bishop and Forbes Jackson. Both athletes have competed in the British Triathlon Youth and Junior Super Series this year, where they have raced against top British athletes at their age. The European Cup will give them the opportunity to test themselves against athletes from across Europe as they continue their development on this flat and technical course on the edge of the Croatian capital.
