This weekend sees the Great Britain Age-Group Team back in action in Pontevedra, with British Triathlon Home Nation members pulling on the blue trisuit in the aquabike, super super sprint and standard distance World Triathlon Age-Group Championships.

2023 World Triathlon Age-Group Championships Super Sprint Distance Triathlon
Taking place on Friday 22 September, the super sprint championships were the first of the Age-Group Championships to get underway in Pontevedra. Athletes were tasked with a 300m swim in the Lerez River before a 6.4km bike and 1.6km run around the roads of the Spanish city.

The standard distance championships takes place on Sunday 24 September. The course will set athletes with a 1,500m swim, 39.5km bike and 10km run in their quest to become world champion.

The final Age-Group World Championships to take place is the aquabike on Sunday 24 September. With a 1,500m swim and 39.5km bike before a final short dash to the line, the aquabikers will bring the Age-Group action to a close in Pontevedra.

Great Britain Age-Group Team Qualification
The 2024 Age-Group Qualification calendar has been annoucned and includes 27 qualifying events for the Age-Group European and World Championships that will take place in 2025.
Races will take place at venues and events across Britain, allowing for a wide range of different racing opportunities including sea, river, lake, and reservoir swims as well as open and closed bike courses. Next year’s calendar includes seven draft legal events.
Over 3000 athletes represented Great Britain’s Age Group team in 2023 at events across the world with medals being won across all age groups and disciplines.
