Race season is upon us!
2nd May - Ashington Triathlon
An ever popular early season triathlon which always sells out early so don’t delay in entering. This event attracts a wide range of competitors from all abilities, especially beginners who made up 58% of entries last year. This year we are pleased to include 20 places for relay teams. Hosted in the town of Ashington once famous for being the largest mining town in Europe, with the kind invite from Active Northumberland this year’s Triathlon will start at the town’s all new £21 million pound sports centre.

8th May – Richmond Aquathlon
A pool based swim followed by a scenic run along the footpaths adjoining the beautiful River Swale for everyone aged 8 upwards. Goody bags/mementos for all junior finishers from Tristart to Tristar 3. Races of varying distance depending on age as follows, ages on 31st December 2016:Tristart, age 8 swim 50 meters run 600Tristar 1, age 9/10 swim 150 meters run 1.5kTristar 2, age 11/12 swim 250 meters run 2kTristar 3, age 13/14 swim 400 meters run 3kYouth and adult age 15 upwards swim 500 meters run 4k.

15th May - Alnwick Sprint Triathlon - Now sold out!
500m pool swim, 23km undulating bike, 5km off road run. The fastest selling out triathlon in the area, this event is popular with novices and an early season event for the best triathletes.

15th May – Cleveland Sprint Triathlon
The swim will be 400 metres [16 lengths in Stokesley Leisure Centre's 25 met
re 6 lane pool]. The bike will be approximately 11 miles around the country lanes of Stokesley, Ingleby Greenhow and Battersby. The course is undulating. The run is 3 miles and is an out and back course.

15th May - Druridge Super Sprint
To plug a gap in the race schedule as there are no open water races in the region before Nottingham Sprint Tri (European Qualifier), Outlaw Half or Lisbon European Champs. Designed to be just over a week in advance and short enough to be a great last blast.
400m Open water Swim in Ladyburn Lake. If you are not out the water in less than 10 min, you will be pulled out the water due to the cold.
10km bike ride to Widdrington Roundabout and back
2.6km run (1 lap of the lake)

21st May – Cleveland Junior Duathlon
Run - Bike - Run on the amazing traffic free Prissick Cycle Circuit in Middlesbrough. There are various distances for all Tri Star ages and is part of the Regional Children's Grand Prix Series.

22nd May - GO TRI Hartlepool #2 Aquathlon
A super sprint Aquathlon set in the spacious grounds of English Martyrs School. Close to the Summerhill Country Park which offers activities for the whole family over its 100 acre site. Distances are 200m pool swim ( the pool is 20m so you will be doing 10 lengths) and the run is 2.5k on grass. This event will be continuous.

4th June - Hartlepool Big Lime Aquathlon
The 2016 Big Lime Aquathlon set the pace in a busy calendar of triathlon events with GO TRIs aplenty in the lead up to the Big Lime Triathlon. This is an ideal opportunity to hone your running and swimming skills in the summer.
Open water sea swim in Hartlepool Marina, in the Historic Quay area, followed by scenic 5k run along the seafront promenade.

5th June - Northumberland Traithlon (sprint, standard and relay teams)
If there was ever an ideal location to stage a triathlon event, then Druridge Bay Country Park must be top of the list. The Northumberland triathlon is based in the centre of Druridge Bay Country Park, which is situated approximately 20 miles North of Newcastle upon Tyne and 3 miles South of the fishing village of Amble. Located right next to a stunning bay, on a beautiful stretch of Northumberland coastline, it is a popular place to ride, cycle, walk, paddle and surf and perfect for a fun family day out. The swim will be in the warm shallow freshwater Ladyburn Lake set within the park grounds. The bike route will take you out of the Country Park along a beautiful coastal route and the run will be a multi-lap route on the footpath that winds it's way through the woods and meadows that surround the lake. The Northumberland triathlon will be another successful and enjoyable event attracting a wide range of competitors from all abilities.

18th June - Kielder Off Road Triathlon
A brand new off road triathlon based in the spectacular Kielder Water and Forest Park, Northumberland. The event will consist of a 1.5km open water swim, 30km off road cycle, followed by a 10km trail run. The event is to be held in conjunction with the Kielder Iron & Olympic Distance Triathlons the following day.

19th June - Hetton Youth & Junior Open Water Triathlon
TriStart Duathlon. TS1 - TS2 - TS3 open water closed road event triathlon. Youth and 1st year Junior open race and Elite (15-17yrs) draft legal European Youth Championship Qualifier. TriStars 2 and 3 races will be subject to gear restrictions - for further information on gear restrictions please click here. The Elite race entry will undergo a review by an independent Performance Management Team and athletes ranked if entries exceed the safe limit for the race venue start. Athletes will be offered the option of racing the open youth/junior event if they are subsequently deselected from the Elite wave.

19th June - Kielder Triathlon & Olympic Distance Triathlon
This unique event will consist of a 3.8km open water swim in Kielder Water (Europe's largest man made lake), a 180km road cycle through the rugged border country. This is then followed by a 42.2km trail run (non technical) around the full circuit of the Lakeside Way.
An Olympic distance triathlon will held in conjunction with the Iron Distance triathlon on the same day. A superb course and distance suitable for any level of triathlete.
